JSON → HTML Table

Convert a JSON array of objects (or 2-D arrays) to a fully styled HTML table. Auto-detects headers from keys, handles nested values, supports 7 themes, alignment, responsive scroll, and download. Free, and it runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded.

How to use the JSON → HTML Table

1. Paste a JSON array of objects (most common), a 2-D array, or a single JSON object into the input field.

2. Select a theme and adjust formatting — alignment, borders, hover, responsive, compact, rounded corners.

3. Use the Preview tab to inspect the rendered table, or the HTML Code tab to copy the markup.

4. Click Download to get a self-contained .html file you can send, host, or embed.

What is it?

JSON is the standard format for REST APIs, databases, and modern configuration — but it is not human-friendly to read in raw form. Converting it to an HTML table makes data immediately scannable and shareable without requiring a spreadsheet application.

This tool supports three input shapes: an array of objects (keys become column headers, each object becomes a row), a 2-D array (first sub-array becomes headers), and a single flat object (rendered as a two-column Key / Value table). Nested objects or arrays inside values are serialised as JSON strings within the cell.

The result is a fully standalone HTML file with all CSS embedded — no external stylesheets, no JavaScript, no dependencies. It renders correctly in any browser, email client, or documentation system.

Example

JSON Array of Objects
[
  { "name": "Alice", "role": "Engineer", "team": "Platform" },
  { "name": "Bob",   "role": "Designer", "team": "Growth"   }
]
↓
Generated HTML Table (Ocean theme)
<table>
  <thead>
    <tr><th>name</th><th>role</th><th>team</th></tr>
  </thead>
  <tbody>
    <tr><td>Alice</td><td>Engineer</td><td>Platform</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Bob</td><td>Designer</td><td>Growth</td></tr>
  </tbody>
</table>

Keys from the first object are used as column headers. Objects with missing keys produce empty cells.

Benefits

Share structured data with anyone, in any format

CSV output opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets; XML works with legacy enterprise systems; JSON feeds every modern API — convert to whatever format your audience needs.

Bridge incompatible data formats without a custom script

Convert between JSON, CSV, XML, and YAML in one click — the most common inter-system data translation handled instantly, without writing a parser or ETL pipeline.

Inspect, compare, and debug complex JSON structures

Sort, extract, compare, and measure JSON to find unexpected keys, spot structural differences between API versions, and diagnose oversized payloads.

Migrate legacy data to modern formats

Convert XML configs, PHP print_r() dumps, or CSV exports to clean JSON — without writing a one-off migration script that will never be used again.

Frequently asked questions

What if my JSON objects have different keys?

All unique keys across all objects are collected into the header row. Objects that are missing a key will produce an empty cell for that column.

What happens to nested objects or arrays?

Nested values are serialised as JSON strings inside the cell. For best results, flatten your JSON before converting. You can use the JSON Formatter tool to inspect the structure first.

Can I convert a single JSON object (not an array)?

Yes. A single flat object is rendered as a two-column Key / Value table, which is useful for displaying configuration objects or API response metadata.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your data never leaves your device.

Are there file size limits?

There is no hard limit, but very large datasets (thousands of rows) may slow the browser. For files over a few MB, consider splitting the data or using a command-line tool.

Can I use the generated HTML on my website?

Yes. The output is a complete, self-contained HTML file with inline CSS. You can embed the <table> portion directly in any webpage or paste the full file into a CMS.
