RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)
Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) grants permissions to roles, such as Admin, Editor or Viewer, and then assigns users to those roles, instead of giving permissions to each person separately. When someone changes job, only their role changes.
RBAC makes access easy to review and supports the principle of least privilege: each role gets only the permissions it needs. Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) goes further and decides using attributes such as department, location or time of day. AWS IAM, Kubernetes and most business software use RBAC.
