What is it?
Working days (business days) are calendar days excluding weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and public holidays. This calculator counts Monday through Friday as working days, which is the standard definition for most global business contexts.
Working day calculations are essential for project planning (sprint lengths), contract terms (payment due dates), delivery estimates (SLAs), and financial calculations. Note that this tool does not account for public holidays, which vary by country and region — add those manually to your calculation.
Example
Start: 2024-01-01 · End: 2024-01-31
Total days: 31 Weekend days: 9 (5 Sat + 4 Sun) Working days: 23
Excludes Saturdays and Sundays. Subtract public holidays manually for your region.

Frequently asked questions
Does this include public holidays?
No. Public holidays vary by country, region, and year, making a universal list impractical. Count your region's specific holidays separately and subtract from the working days total.
Is Saturday or Sunday ever a working day?
This tool uses the standard Monday–Friday definition. For 6-day or 7-day work weeks, use the Total Days figure and subtract only the days off applicable to your schedule.
