Jenkins

Jenkins is an open source automation server used to build CI/CD pipelines. It watches source code repositories and, on each change, builds the code, runs tests and deploys the result, reporting any failures.

Pipelines are written as code in a Jenkinsfile kept in the repository, describing stages such as Build, Test and Deploy. Jenkins runs jobs on its controller and on agent machines, and more than a thousand plugins connect it to Git, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms and chat tools. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and Azure Pipelines are hosted alternatives.
