Frontend vs Backend
The frontend (client side) is the part of a website or app that users see and interact with in the browser: layout, buttons, forms and animations. It is built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, often using frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.
The backend (server side) runs on servers and handles business logic, databases, authentication and APIs that the frontend calls. It is written in languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, Go or C#. A full-stack developer works on both. The two usually communicate through REST or GraphQL APIs exchanging JSON.
