Screen Resolution and Pixels
Screen resolution is the number of pixels a display shows, written as width × height. A pixel (picture element) is the smallest dot of colour on the screen. Common resolutions are HD (1280 × 720), Full HD or 1080p (1920 × 1080), QHD or 1440p (2560 × 1440) and 4K UHD (3840 × 2160).
More pixels give a sharper image, but sharpness also depends on screen size: pixel density, measured in PPI (pixels per inch), tells how tightly the pixels are packed. A higher refresh rate (60 Hz, 120 Hz, 144 Hz) is separate and makes motion smoother.
