GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)
A GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is a processor designed to perform many simple calculations at the same time. It was built to render images, video and 3D graphics for the display, where millions of pixels must be computed in parallel.
Because of this massively parallel design, GPUs are now also used for general computing tasks such as machine learning and AI, scientific simulation and video encoding. A GPU can be integrated into the same chip as the CPU or be a separate (discrete) graphics card with its own fast memory.
